hey guys, sorry yet another post is late but I warned I would become busier and I’m defiantly looking forward to having a few days off and doing nothing.
As I’m getting busier the next few posts will be short ones I’m afraid, mainly just updates on what I’ve been up to. Monday was a regroup and plan day for our house, most of us had a slightly slower day in preparation of the mountain of things that need doing in the space of three days. not much else really to share apart from my final set of festive nails, well apart from the new years eve ones.
anyway I used Avon’s nail wear pro polishes, which apply smoothly but like all polishes thicken up and go gloopy over time. they are pretty chip resistant without a top coat, always a plus for me. they do require two coats in order to be opaque but give a lovely glossy finish. I went for the classic red and green. the green has a very subtle shimmer running through it and is called midnight green but I think its been discontinued. the red is called real red and you can still get this shade.
Hi guys, today has been a pretty chilled out, starting with a lie in and then I went shopping with my brother on the hopes of getting some decorations for the tree. I had gone on b and m’s website last night to have a browse and my local store didn’t have the ones I wanted in stock 😦 The trip wasn’t a total waste as I managed to pick up a Christmas present for my brother who is Vegas and poker mad. ( I’ve lost count how many poker sets and packs of cards he has)
And I’ve spent the rest of the day catching up on housework and YouTube videos, nothing like vlogmas videos to get you in the spirit. I’ve also been doing a bit of browsing on the net for a personal planner, I’ve come to the realisation that I need something to organise my life into, from work, to appointments to blog posts. I’m naturally a creative person but I love organisation so I need something that’s going to combined both, I don’t like normal Filofaxes as I find them too rigid and expensive for what they are, so if anyone can recommend a site or an etsy seller that would be fantastic.
anyways on with the main part of this post, another nail look this time a deep purple with a sparkle running through it. I used a polish from a brand I’ve never used before kiko, the polish its self is very thick and is opaque in just one coat, so although I’m not keen on thick polishes this did go on quite smooth with the benefit of only needing one coat. its not as glossy finish as some of my others but it does still have a shine to it. the shade I used was pearly Indian violet. you can purchase kiko products from their website or if you are lucky enough like me have a kiko store in your city. I have added a link to their website so you can check it out for yourselves.
Hey guys, entering double digits now and only a fortnight until Christmas eve, and I have had yet another busy day buying Christmas cards, presents and trying to find the perfect Christmas candle. I’m currently burning my ikea and Primark candles which smell lovely and Christmassy ( don’t think that is even a real word ) but I want a big Christmas candle that doesn’t smell sickly sweet ( I hate fake vanilla smells) burns well and doesn’t cost the earth.
anyway as my last Christmas inspired nails chipped off, I removed the rest and repainted them a bright pink that has a subtle sparkle to it and its lasting so far, a little wear around the edges but that’s to be expected with me. it went on smooth, I do love the brushes in the Avon nail polishes, there not too big nor too small and the polish its self is opaque in two coats. the colour is called pink radiance .
sorry its a short post today but I feel drained, despite having a salted caramel latte earlier. How have you all been getting on with your festive preparations?
Today I’ve spent the day watching Christmas films and ordering some more some presents and baking ingredient’s online. I plan to start my Christmas baking in the next few days so expect posts on the results.
I’ve painted my nails all festive, not the usual red and green although that might happen at a later date.
I’ve gone for grey gel looking finish with a glitter topcoat. I’ve used the gelly polish from Barry m in chai as I used one of these polishes on my toes for my holiday and loved it, it applies beautifully and gives a glossy finish that is hard to chip, which is good for me as nail polish chips so easily for me. anyway as for the glitter coat that’s NYC in lights camera glitter.
gelly superdrug currently you get a free gift when you spend £6 on Barry m
gelly boots currently you get a free gift when you spend £9 on Barry m
Hi everyone, first I would like to apologise for being gone for so long, it was never my intention to stay away so long but it has been one thing after another. First I decided to enjoy the rest of my lovely holiday, after all its not everyday you get to enjoy Madrid, Barcelona and sitges all the space of a fortnight. Then when I got home it was time to go back to work, and my work load increased, throw in birthdays and general day to day life and I struggled to find time for myself with enough energy. But now my life has somewhat evened out I am back, and have several new products I’m currently trying out, from kiko, revolution and essence ( not new to the market but new to me).
I will also be venturing to ikea once again and investing in the popular Alex drawers and organising my ever growing makeup and nail polish collections. If would you like to see pictures or have a recommendations of products weather they be makeup, skin care or hair that you would like me to try, please comment.
What’s your one makeup item that you couldn’t live without?
