Blogmas day 3

Hey guys,  I’m feeling quite festive today, when I got to work I found it lit up in hundreds of little fairy lights which was magical as when I start work its still dark and the lights just made my morning, so as I was in the mood I thought I would treat myself to my favourite hot drink and one of costa’s Christmas specials a large white hot chocolate, yum.  I don’t like normal hot chocolate but this is just something else.

anyways before I ramble on, I’ve had a busy but productive day and have done a simple Christmas look which has allowed me to use a new product. I’ve gone for a gold eye with black liquid liner, hint of shimmer to my cheeks and a red lip. Forgive my eyebrows there due to be threaded and reshaped again, and my hair just does not want to play ball today.

I’m definitely  not great at taking pictures of my face but I am getting better. The photos do not do this mascara justice, in real life it looks like I have applied false lashes without having to actually apply them.

Hit and Miss

Hi everyone, sorry this going up a day late but as I’m currently on holiday and I’ve had to wait till I know what the Wi-Fi situation was and at the moment its pretty good, if you would like me to do a post on what I’ve taken within me on my holiday feel free to comment and let me know. anyway before I start rambling on with the post. now liquid eyeliner can give you the ability to do fine lines or thick lines or a dramatic cat eye or basically anything you imagination can come up with, I think as with any eyeliner it can be tricky to use and does take practice to use, but bare in mind this does give a more bold look than pencil and can show flaws but the overall look is worth it, personally I’m still practicing and improving, YouTube videos do help.

This one from MUA is as its called wet, but it does go on beautifully even for a novice like myself and has become a fast favourite. the thin nib allows me the precision I want, and it wears well, no fading or flaking like you can get with some. it’s also not a bad price only £2 from Superdrug

The next one is from NYC and probably the only product from them I’ve not liked. and surprisingly I can no longer find it on superdrugs website. It cost me about £3. Unlike the previous one this one is more like and angled felt tip, however the nib was a bit strange with cut out bits not unlike a higher brand one which is supposed to make doing a classic cat eye easy but this dragged and scratched my eye lid and the finish wasn’t fantastic either. I was thoroughly disappointed with this product.

So there you have it my favourite liquid liner and my worse. what’s your favourite liner look?

Pop of Colour

Sometimes you just want something different from the usual nude lip, clear lip or pale lip, especially if you’re wearing a natural eye look, or maybe you just want to shake things up a little and have a little fun. But be warned a bold lip isn’t for everyone, it can cause people to stare ( although I say admire 😉  ) and if you’re not comfortable with that it can be scary, but if you are brave enough, I have three recommendations the first is by the brand MUA in the colour tulip

It’s the lightest of the three and the cheapest at £1. Its creamy and glides on and doesn’t feel drying on the lips and has a vanilla smell to it. its bold version of a light pink and can be purchased from Superdrug, link below. This is great one as introduction in to bold lips.

The next is from the brand NYC in the colour air kiss

NYC’s spokeswomen and model is the lovely demi Lovato. I love this brand and so far have only not liked one product.

Anyways back the lipstick before I get side-tracked, is £1.99 from Superdrug. it glides on like a dream and has cherry smell that reminds me of a cherry lip balm I had as a kid. its definitely a bold pink and I did get quite a few people noticing when I wore it and is now a staple in my makeup bag. the link to purchase it is below

And lastly is from rimmel London and the Kate moss collection in the shade 107 wine

It’s currently £5.49 and can be purchased from Superdrug, boots basically anywhere that sells rimmel makeup.

This is my go to red lipstick, its bold, has a pinkie tone to it that works for me, again like the others is creamy and glides on, I had heard so much about the Kate range but wasn’t too sure which red to go for as in my mind I had this picture of what I thought the perfect red was and after covering my hand in several red swatches, I chose this one and ill admit this wasn’t quite what I had in my mind but I thought I would try it and boy am I glad I did, once I had applied it on my lips I fell in love. I think there is something in that range for every person it’s just a matter of finding the right one. links bellow on where to purchase

And there you have it three bold lips, from three different brands. If there is a bold lip colour you love or would like me to try please comment and let me know and I’ll give them a try. Please bare with me when it comes to swatches as I am new at this.

And finally I’ve come up with a blogging schedule so I will be hopefully posting every Friday.
